Frances T. Uttaro

Frances passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 25, 2025 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of Eugene R. Uttaro Sr., and devoted mother of Eugene Jr. and Joseph Uttaro, Anna Birchler, and Teresa Scroger (Randall).

Predeceased by her parents Charles and Anna Mitrano, her sisters Isabel Triano, Sr. Concetta Mitrano SSJ, Sr Cora Marie Mitrano SSJ, Philomena Mitrano, and brother Rev. Joseph Mitrano, CSB.

Survived by her beloved grandchildren, Jason Uttaro, Shawn Dean (Christina), Ashley Birchler (Ken), Rachel Farley (Chris), April Harris (Chris), CJ, Travis, and Marcis Scroger, Gina Garcia (BJ), Melanie Wilson (Thomas). Survived by Sister Ann Marie Mitrano SSJ, Vincent Mitrano, and Gerard Mitrano (Barbara).

Frances was a graduate of Nazareth Academy, class of 1950.

She worked and volunteered at several jobs, including Lincoln's department store and Le Chase construction as a secretary. She was a stay at home mom, and then volunteered in the Hilton School District in the remedial reading section. She then worked for the Greece Central School district as an aide in the psychology department, and the Town of Greece in the Tax collector's office.

She had a strong devotion for her children and grandchildren. She loved her husband, Eugene, for 69 years and her husband loved her with unwavering devotion. Frances made a lot of friends along the way and never had a bad word to say about anybody. She only saw the good in people. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

Please join us in honoring the life of Frances on Saturday (January 10th) from 10-11 AM at Vay-Schleich and Meeson, 1075 Long Pond Road. Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Sisters of Saint Joseph, 150 French Road, Rochester, New York 14618.
