Francesca Sciortino, a beloved seamstress and cherished matriarch, peacefully departed this world on January 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Born in Monreale, Italy, on February 13, 1944, Francesca embodied kindness, compassion, and love throughout her full life.
Her career as a seamstress was a testament to her artistic talents and unwavering dedication to her craft. Each piece she created was marked by care and precision, reflecting not only her skill but also her passion for bringing joy and beauty into the lives of others.
Francesca's life was rich with love, as she nurtured her family with warmth and unwavering support. She is survived by her cherished son Angelo and his wife Penelope Sciortino, as well as her beloved daughter Rosalie and her husband Vito Pulito. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Sarah, Stephanie, Matthew, and Christopher, each of whom carry a piece of her loving spirit with them. Francesca also leaves behind her beloved sister, Fina, who shared precious memories of sisterhood that will be held in their hearts forever.
Francesca's spirit is now reunited with her late husband, Salvatore Sciortino, whose love was a cornerstone of her life. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Nino, Teresa, and Ferdinando, each of whom she held dearly within her heart.
The sorrow of her passing is felt deeply by all who knew her, yet her legacy of kindness will endure through the many lives she touched. A visitation to honor her memory will take place on January 29, 2026, from 3 PM to 8 PM at Mangano Family Funeral Home, Inc. in Deer Park, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow the next day, January 30, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in West Islip, NY.
Francesca Sciortino may have left this earth, but her love, compassion, and artistic spirit will remain alive in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
