Francis Colden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home on Jun. 6, 2025.
Francis X. "Frank" Colden Jr., age 68, of Royersford, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 2, 1956 in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Mary A. (Dunne) and Francis X. Colden Sr.
Frank was a graduate of Archbishop Carroll High School. His career in information technology began in the early 1980s, when he started at Memorex. His work as a technical support engineer spanned many years and mergers, working for Dell EMC until his passing.
Frank was a Philadelphia Eagles super-fan and season ticket holder since 1995. He loved tailgating in FDR Park with his boys and buddies. His generosity will never be forgotten by the many friends and family whom he shared his tickets with over the years. There were many memories made together down in South Philly. As an avid football fan, he never went a day without watching the NFL Network. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and loved a Pudge's cheesesteak.
Frank was always willing to try new experiences, oftentimes on short notice or a whim. He cherished his trips to the Indy 500, his guy nights with friends, spending time in Florida, and of course Eagles road trips. He had a great sense of humor and embraced life with a calm, easygoing demeanor. He always had a way of sharing pearls of wisdom, gently reminding us of what truly matters.
Frank's greatest joy was his family, whom he treasured above all. His life revolved around his sons and his grandchildren, never missing a game or an event to support them. He loved and treated his daughters-in-law as if they were his own. He was always present in the lives of his siblings, nieces and nephews. Frank was truly willing to drop anything to help others, and he lived life to the fullest.
Frank is survived by three sons, Chad Frankhouser (Heather), Shawn Colden (Erin) and Kevin Colden; six siblings, Paula Staneruck (Robert), Gerry Colden (Betsy), Mary Niehls (J.D.), Christine Clark (Glenn), Dolores Sessler (Tom), and Patti Gill (Brian); six grandchildren, Bryn and Bryce Frankhouser, Leon, Cassidy, Nicholas and Zachary Colden; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Francis X. "Frankie" Colden III; and one sister, Cina Shaw.
The relationships and connections Frank made with the doctors, nurses, and medical professionals who cared for him over the past year were nothing short of amazing. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who were involved in his care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at St. Teresa of Calcutta, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11:30 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Brandt. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM in the Church on Friday morning. All are welcome to dress comfortably or, if they wish, to wear Eagles gear in honor of his spirit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org and the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford, PA. Condolences may be offered online by visiting www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
