I knew and worked with Bishop DiLorenzo when he was Bishop of Honolulu. He helped build a new church on Oahu (St. Jude's) and he was always there to support the parishes. I corresponded with him when I lived in Virginia Beach and he told me how much he enjoyed his Hawai'i position. I will always remember him as one of God's finest.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

The Fathers and Brothers of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament serving in the Diocese of Honolulu extend their prayerful support to the Diocese of Richmond and the family and friends of Bishop Francis DiLorenzo. It was a grace to have worked with him.

To the Family and Friends of Bishop Dilorenzo, my wife and I extend our deepest sympathies. He was a great man who did many positive things for St. Mary's Star of the Sea (SOS), our Parish. Many memories our held, including his presence and support of SOS's 100h Anniversary celebration, and officiating the sacrament of Confirmation at SOS and St Nicholas. He was always a jovial man.
