My condolences to the Dunn family. Pete and Jeanne presented their BBR cabin keys to Don & me when we were moving to Black Butte Ranch in 1988. He told us to stay as long as we needed until we found a rental to stay in while our new home was being built...that's friendship. He and Don were at Grant & the UofO together...Jeanne too. The ties to old friends from Grant meant a lot to Don and the Dunns were a big part of that.

I had only known Pete for a short time, but he always greeted me with a warm smile and a hello. It was always a pleasure seeing him sitting behind the desk at the Claremont Golf Club chatting with residents and friends. My deepest sympathies go out to his friends and family. Pete shall never be forgotten.

Sorry to hear about your dad, he was always very nice to me. Trips to the Black Butte house are always a good memory. And, his album Time Out by Dave Brubeck made me a life-long fan of Brubeck.

Grandpa Pete was the greatest Grandpa a kid could ask for. He cared deeply about his family and friends. I am very fortunate to have had this wonderful man in my life for this long but the truth is, he will always be with me. The fond memories will last forever as there will always be a special place in my mind, heart and soul for Grandpa. He loved to tell stories about his family and friends, sharing the many experiences of growing up in a different era. Now it's our turn to share the many stories about the great Grandpa Pete, and we will do so for the rest of our lives. I love you, Grandpa.

Our condolences to Pete's family for their great loss. A really nice human being, he was a long-time friend of my husband Bud who met weekly with him and their other Grant High buddies at the "Tilly" Tavern and Raccoon Lodge for lunch over many, many years. Since my Bud passed away 4 days before Pete I like to think that their friendship will continue wherever their next journey takes them. I love the photo you chose, and will remember Pete with respect and affection.

Pete was my father's (Bill) youngest brother. After my father passed, he would stop by our house to visit. Those visits were always wonderful and so was he. He was always there when I went to Oregon and my family lived in Virginia. My prayers are with his family.

Pete Dunn has been my close friend since Rose City Park grade school and Grant High School. I served his father at the Ideal Dairy buttermilk at 5 cents a glass during the Great Depression. Pete and I rode our bikes to a gravel pit job paying 90 cents per hour during the summer and the next year in the shipyards as journeyman painters applying Redlead to Russian ships at $1.32 per hour. We married our sweethearts Jeanne Boquist and Pearl Jensen in 1948 - with the Grant Guys meeting weekly for lunch at the Racoon Lodge until recently. Pete and I celebrated our 50th and 90th birthdays together. Pete dealt with his disability bravely and will be greatly missed.
