Francis Guastella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home from Jan. 15 to Jan. 16, 2026.
Francis "Frank" Stephen Guastella passed away at Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township surrounded by his family at the age of 77.

Frank was born on August 10, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He was a son of Stephen and Marie (Frontiera) Guastella. On May 23, 1970, Frank married the love of his life, Linda Carter and they shared 55 wonderful years, making memories. Frank had a love for cars from a very young age. After high school, he went on to trade school knowing that he would be working with cars for the rest of his life; making his decision to become a mechanic, a simple one. Frank owned and operated Slim's Alignment and Hot Rodd Shop until he retired in 2010. He designed and built many cars over the years and was publicly recognized for his accomplishments by having his cars at COBO Hall during the Autorama events and was invited to Ford's Mansion by Eyes on Design where he won 2 awards. Frank loved anything and everything about cars and he would go anywhere for car shows and car cruises. When he wasn't busy with cars, Frank liked to golf during the warmer months but above everything, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Watching them play or swim, was some of his favorite things to do. Frank loved his family deeply and his passing has left a void in their hearts. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Frank is survived by his wife, Linda; children, DeAnna Anderson, Frank (Tina) Guastella and Nicole Gonzalez; grandchildren, Daniela, Adriana, Braylon and Francesca; and many extended family and friends. Frank was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Frank will be Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
