I am Stephen J. Welden's son, Patrick Jason Welden, and I remember meeting my grandfather for the first time. He was a very nice man and he gave me a John Deere mini tractor to play with. it is sad to hear that he passed and I wish I had gotten to know him better.

I enjoyed many, many enjoyable QSO's (Ham radio conversations) with Frank on the "Good Ol' Boys Group" on 40 meters in the evening. He was a very knowledgeable in a host of subjects. What he didn't know right then, he knew where to look for the information, and give it to you with your next contact. I still use one of his antenna designs today!
My deepest condolences to his entire family.
73'es Ol' friend!

Frank was a longtime friend. We had many good times together. Especially visiting museum ships and aircraft museums. Most memorable was operating ham radio on the bridge of the battleship Texas. The wife and I attended breakfast with him once a week. We miss him.

"Hack," W5RNF, and I grew up together in Dodge City, KS, and shared interests in Amateur Radio, Motorcycles, and other things through the years. To his last days, we kept in touch through the magic of Amateur Radio. He will be missed by many. 73 - Hack.
