Francis J. Hendricks

Stamford resident, Francis J. (Frank) Hendricks, died on November 25, 2025. He was 85 years of age.

Born July 8, 1940, at Mercy Hospital on Long Island, to William T. and Marie Gladys (Ramsay) Hendricks, both formerly of Brooklyn. He was a graduate of St. Christophers' School, Baldwin, ('54), Brooklyn Prep ('58) and Fairfield University ('62).

Upon graduation, and the outbreak of the Cuban Missile Crisis, Frank joined the Navy, via Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island. Upon commission, he was selected for air training at N.A.S. Pensacola, Florida, and served as a U.S. Naval Aviation Officer (Navigator) during the early years of the Vietnam War. His duties included navigation ground-school instructor and officer. He received armed forces Expeditionary Medals, National Defense Ribbon, and a Vietnam Service medal.

Frank married Sheila (Coughlin) O'Connor, on August 17, 1963. He is survived by three children: Sheila (married to Colby Collier), of Morristown, NJ; Kevin Hendricks, of Norwalk, CT.; and Maureen (married to Michael Godfrey), of East Setauket, NY, four grandchildren: Erin, Colby, Ryan, and Julia; and two great grandchildren: Clara and Hallie. He was blessed with loving family and friends and was a proud uncle and "grampuncle."

Frank's career spanned fifty-plus years in the investment business. He began at Merrill Lynch as an Account Executive, where he was recognized as a top performer as well as a guest speaker at their training school in New York. He furthered his career at a number of companies as a manager and in leadership roles.

Frank's hobbies included acapella singing in his earlier years including the "Bostonians" at Fairfield University. In his later years he joined the Barbershop Harmony Society and performed with a quartet, "Four Under Par", and with barbershop choruses including The Golden Chordsmen of Westchester County and the Big Apple Chorus in Manhattan.

Frank picked up golf and enjoyed the game with his son, sons-in-law and his grandsons. He gave back to the game as well for many years, as an active member of both the Tournament and Course Rating Committees for the MGA.

In his later years, Frank and Mary Pat (Ryan) Whalen, formerly of Yonkers, NY, partnered to share their lives, their families, and their friends.

Condolences can be offered on Monday, December 1st, from 4pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 2nd at 10am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, 1200 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W Stephens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY.
