Francis Joseph Moreland

Frank J. Moreland, 59, of Kalona, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Unity Point Health Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf from complications of COVID. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Parkview Church, 15 Foster Road, Iowa City with Jeremy Pickard officiating. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook Page. A private burial will be held prior to the service at South Gingerich Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 4 – 7 PM at the Kalona Mennonite Church, 902 6th Street, in Kalona. Memorials may be given in Frank's name to the following organizations: Pleasantview Home Building Fund, Pheasants Forever, Inc, or Hillcrest Academy.
Francis Joseph "Frank" Moreland was born May 16, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John and Carolyn (Klein) Moreland, Sr. He graduated from Regina High School in Iowa City. In 1985 he became general manager of DeliMart Convenience Stores, assuming ownership in 2005. He was united in marriage to Sheryl Hostetler at Fairview Church on September 28, 1996. Frank was a member of Parkview Church and enjoyed playing golf, euchre, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Sheryl of Kalona; two daughters: Sydney Moreland of Austin, TX, Allison Moreland of Iowa City; four siblings: John (Sandy) Moreland, Jr., Julie (Mike) Hahn, Sally (Glenn) Vidnovic, and Molly (Jim) Molini all of Iowa City, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Frank in death were his parents and one brother Tom Moreland.
