Francis G. "Frank" Maxwell

1940 - 2026

Milton, WI - Francis "Frank" G. Maxwell, 85, of Milton, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his home. Frank was born on December 11, 1940, in Prairie du Chien, WI to the late Theodore and Alvina (Lang) Maxwell. He attended Prairie du Chien High School and was drafted into the Navy. On August 10, 1963, in Wauzeka, WI, Frank married Mary Lenz. Frank worked for 33 years at General Motors and then another 20 years as a rural mail carrier. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, and the Local UAW 95. Frank was known to like to chat with friends or just about anyone, mow his lawn and many of his neighbors' lawns, ride his motorcycle into his 80's, loved looking for a good deal, and enjoyed a cold beer. He could be found usually once a week or every other week, heading up to his cabin in Wauzeka, to tinker around and fix what needed to be done.

Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Maxwell; sons: Jeff (Dawn) Maxwell, Barry (Melissa) Maxwell; grandchildren: Jeff (Danielle) Maxwell, Katie (Matt) Meisenheimer, Mason (Tallie) Maxwell, Myles (Ari Fishman) Maxwell, Molly Maxwell; step-granddaughter: Caeli (Jake) Sparkman; great-grandchildren: Aidric, Nova, Coen, Jasper, Juneau, Delaeni, Eviahna, Miley, Colstyn; siblings: Maxine Lund, Dan and Jim Maxwell; sister-in-law: Jane Lenz; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jack Maxwell.

Memorial services will be held at 12 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor John Swanson officiating with Military Rites to follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10 AM until the start of services. Albrecht Funeral Homes, Milton are assisting the family.
