Francis T Steiner

Durham - Francis T. Steiner, 85 passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Village Manor in Abilene, KS. He was born May 4, 1940 near Durham, KS the son of Ralph and Anne (Reznicek) Steiner. On April 15, 1961 he was united in marriage to Rita Silhan in Marion, KS. She survives of the home. Francis farmed and raised cattle northwest of Durham for over 60 years. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing around the Marion county area. He is survived by his loving wife Rita of the home. Three sons: John (Lisa) Steiner of Abilene, KS; Ron Steiner of Tampa, KS; and Ken Steiner of Colorado Springs, CO. One granddaughter, Kirsten (Tom) Horacek of Simpson KS, Three great-grandchildren; Tommy Lee, Adalyn and Lance Horacek. Three step-grandchildren; Justin, Cody and Tyler Goding. Siblings: Kathleen Oborny; Joyce Buckley; Barbara Rodriguez; Veronica (Jerry) Base; Margaret Bailey and Ralph G. (Ida) Steiner. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held on Thursday, November 13th, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Abilene, Kansas. Rosary will begin at 10:00am, funeral service to begin at 10:30am, followed by a luncheon. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral home in Abilene. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Father Kapaun Legacy Fund, or to St. Andrews Catholic School.
