Francis "Fran" Anthony Turtoro, Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30th, 2023, with his family by his side. He was 56 years old.
Fran was born on February 8, 1967, in Wilmington, Delaware and remained a Delawarean throughout his life. He grew up in Newport, Delaware graduating from Delcastle Technical High School and for the past 21 years has resided in Middletown, Delaware.
He was employed by the DuPont Company, Happy Harry's Distribution Center and Game Console Repair Shops. In recent years, up until his passing, he provided childcare for his youngest grandson, Nicholas.
From a young age, Fran was a sports lover and faithfully followed his favorite Philadelphia sports teams, the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. As a youth, he enjoyed playing baseball and continued into adulthood playing men's softball.
He loved a diverse genre of music but especially songs from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. He had an interest in the Vietnam War and read a multitude of books on the subject. He loved food and dining out but was blessed with a fast metabolism and a 6'3 frame so it did not show.
Fran's greatest love, however, was his family. He is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Laurie, his daughter Gabrielle "Gabby", his son Cole and four grandsons, Dominic, Liam, Lincoln "Grey" and Nicholas. He is also survived by his brother Chris Mossinger, his longtime friend, who was like a brother, Jim Irwin and a host of other loved ones.
Fran was predeceased by his mother Cathy Mossinger, his father Fran Turtoro, Sr., grandparents and a special aunt, Dot Lane.
To honor Fran, a service will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 3pm at Connection Community Church 4744 Summit Bridge Road, Middletown DE 19709. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. For those unable to attend services in person, the funeral service will be live streamed at 3 p.m. using the following link:

As Fran loved "his" Philadelphia Eagles Football Team we ask attendees to dress casually and wear Eagles gear or anything Eagles green in color.
Fran was a man of faith and a Disciple Member at Connection Community Church. Donations in Fran's memory can be made to Connection Community Church, 4744 Summit Bridge Road, Middletown DE 19709.
