Francis White Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Francis Kenneth White "Frank", on January 27, 2024.

Born on March 10, 1947, Frank was raised in the heart of South Boston, "Southie," where he developed a lifelong love for Boston sports. Frank initially set out on a journey towards priesthood as he entered the seminary straight out of high school. Despite leaving the seminary to ultimately graduate from Boston College, Frank's faith always remained a guiding force in his life. He attended 7:30 mass every weekend with his family, typically followed by hockey and ice skating with his closest friends.

After college, Frank began teaching in Dorchester, which serendipitously led him to the love of his life, Donna. They were engaged within three weeks, married in nine months, and enjoyed a blissful 35+ years of marriage until Donna passed in 2006, after which Frank was never the same.

In 1984, Frank and Donna made the best decision of their lives to move their family from Easton, MA to Holly Road in Marshfield. Frank started his second successful business in Marshfield, Mechanical Air Controls, which is still being run successfully to this day. On Holly Road, Frank and his family joined a neighborhood where friends became family.

Frank was the biggest cheerleader for his three children, Danny, Kerri and Lindsay. In 1986, Frank rang the doorbell at St. Paul's School in Hingham after his three children were waitlisted for admission. After 30 minutes spent with the principal, Sister Marie, the entire White family was admitted to St. Paul's, which changed all of their lives forever.

Frank coached every hockey, basketball and softball team. He was a fixture at B.C. High and Fairfield hockey games, always found in the back row with the group of dads cheering on their sons.

Frank was the most avid Boston sports fan, holding season tickets for the Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots for most of his life. His Holly Road neighbors didn't even have to watch a Patriots game to know what was going on - they would hear Frank yelling and know when the Patriots scored!

Frank played a special role in everyone's life he touched. He and Donna treated their nieces and nephews like children, cheering on their every victory and spoiling them in every way possible. But they shined most when they became grandparents to Sam, Jack, Evan, Anya, Ryan, Will, Davis, Bridget, Ellie, Nate, Charlotte, Cal, and Sebastian.

Frank's memory lives on in many lives. Those closest to him knew him to be a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Frank's memory by raising a Budweiser the next time the Bruins score.
