Services are scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, January 21, at Terpening & Son Mortuary for Francisca Saenz of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Saenz, 91, died on January 16, 2026 at her home in Artesia.
Deacon Pablo Merjil will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2 to 6 pm on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be John Harrison, Novel and Jose Martinez, Carlos Caldera, Alfonzo Ballard, Edward and Javier Calderon, Oscar and Michael Olvera.
Francisca was born on November 10, 1934 in Tornillo, Texas; the daughter of Francisco Castillo and Carmen Davila Castillo. In 1963 she was married to Ismael Saenz in Mexico. They came to Artesia in 1974 from Mexico.
Francisca was a very stron woman and enjoyed visiting and joking with friends and family, dancing, and feeding the birds in her yard. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ismael, a son Cayetano Hernandez, sons-in-law Richard Calderon, Juan Alcantar, and Frank Berdoza, grandson Richard Calderon Jr., a brother Reymundo Davila and granddaughters Anna and Kristina Olvera.
Survivors include her children Danny Hernandez and wife Janie, Francisco Hernandez and wife Angie, Gilbert Saenz, Ismael Saenz Jr. and wife Maryann, Concepcion Calderon, Beatrice Olvera and husband Miguel, Ida Alcantar, Patricia Gamboa and husband Eustacio, Carmen Berdoza, and Iliana Caldera; a sister Margarita Castillo; and also by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
