Francisco S. Borges

Francisco S. Borges, 81, of Fall River, husband of Maria deMedeiros Santos Borges, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Azores, Portugal, he was a son of the late Felipe Borges and the late Maria da Conceicao (Silva) Borges.

Prior to retirement, Francisco worked at Quaker Fabric as a machine mechanic for many years. He loved fishing and watching soccer, especially his team Sporting. Most notably, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Besides his wife, he leaves his children Ana Cabral (late husband Fernando), of Fall River, Susana Soares and her husband James, of Fall River, and Cristiano Borges of Westport; five grandchildren: Justine, Ciera, Brittney, Jais and Jace; one great-grand child: Lucas; siblings: Antonio Borges and his wife Mariana, of Fall River, Manuel Borges and his wife Rosa, of Azores, Nelia Cabral, of Canada, and Ascencao Estacio, of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 9:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered in Espirito Santo at 10:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
