Francisco J. Escudero

Francisco J. Escudero Sr., age 95, of Evanston, died Sunday, March 29th, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn, nee Larsen; dear father of Francisco "Frankie" (Jackie) Escudero, Constance "Connie" (Brian) Hancock, and William "Billy" (Danielle) Escudero; loving grandfather of Kyle, Colin (Caroline), Liane, and Brandon (Elvia) Hancock, Jordan, Will, and Brendan Escudero; cherished great-grandfather of Micayla Hancock, Carter Watercott and Ellie Hancock; fond brother of the late Miguel & Rodolfo Escudero.

Francisco was born January 8th, 1931, in Lima, Peru. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1994. He graduated from DePaul University in Chicago and remained a devoted DePaul basketball, as well as a Chicago Bulls basketball fan. Francisco was a lifelong soccer enthusiast, as he both played and followed the game closely, even helping coach his son.

Francisco worked as a chemist at LACO Industries for 30 years. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and staying informed about current events, always eager to learn and discuss what was happening around him. In retirement, he traveled widely, with Spain and London among his favorite destinations. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation, Monday, April 6th, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm., at Haben Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. Family & friends will meet for the Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, April 7th at St. Mary Catholic Church of St. John XXIII Parish, 1012 Lake St. Evanston. Interment St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Skokie.
