Francisco Carlos Guerena “Pancho”
Francisco Carlos Guerena, 61, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Francisco was born in Mexicali, Baja California on July 7, 1964. He graduated from Andress High School where he met his soulmate and forever love who he would later marry in 1987, Dianne.
Francisco worked for the Border Patrol for 24 years and retired in 2021. He took great pride in his work as a Supervisory Agent and the commitment that he demonstrated will continuously be respected and honored. After retirement, he dedicated his time to teaching young children through his work as a long term substitute teacher at Colin Powell Elementary and various EPISD schools. His enthusiasm and devotion he showed his students is evident in the admiration shown to him by his fellow teachers and students.
His vibrant personality made him easy to love by all. He loved his dogs who adored him in return. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family who he cared for deeply. He took the greatest joy in the simplest pleasures, from going to the movie theatre to swimming through the waves of South Padre Island.
Francisco was preceded in death by his parents; Jose and Cecilia Guerena, brother in law Ronald Baker and loving dog Mushi. He leaves behind his wife of 38 years Dianne Guerena, daughters Gabriella and Cristina, sister Cecilia and husband Tony, nephew Thomas, brother Roberto, sister in law Linda Thompson and mother in law Fusa Baker; along with other beloved family members. Also his cherished dogs, Tonks and Nacho.
Pallbearers: Roberto Guerena, Thomas Talavera, Tony Talavera, Juan Soriano, Sr., Juan Soriano, Jr., Martin Soriano, Christopher Braswell, Andrew Sanchez and Sergio Sanchez.
Memories and condolences can be left on the obituary at the funeral home website.
