Francisco "Pancho" Melendez

Francisco Melendez, 89, of Pecos, Texas passed away on Saturday October 20, 2024 in Odessa, Texas. Francisco Melendez was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua Mexico to Rumaldo Melendez and Francicsca Pando on October 3, 1935. He went to school in Oijinaga. He married Graciela Melendez in 1955 in Ojinaga Chihuahua Mexico. He worked as a Dairy Farm lead in Verhalen, Texas until he retired in 1997. He was a memeber of Inglesia De Cristo. He enjoyed earning extra money selling watermelons, spending time with his family and friends. 

Francisco Melendez is preceded in death by his spouse Graciela Melendez, parents Rumaldo and Francisca Melendez, brothers Armando Melendez, and Ambrosio Melendez, sisters Delia Melendez, and Evangelina Melendez.

Francisco is survived by daughter Nora Medina, sons Jaime Melendez, Osvaldo Melendez, Uriel Gardea, Tony Gardea, Rogelio Ramos Jr., sisters Carolina Venegas, and Rosa Venegas, Vicky Gomez, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rojelio Ramos, Jamie Melendez, Abel Melendez, Aaron Ramos, Uriel J. Gardea, Bryan Ramos, Fernando Chavez and Jeremiah Lozano.

Visitation will be held at Pecos Funeral Home on 607 W. 3rd. St. in Pecos, Texas Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 9 am to 9 pm, with a Prayer Service from 7 pm to 8 pm. 

Funeral Service will be held at Pecos Funeral Home on 607 W. 3rd. St. in Pecos, Texas at 10 am with Interment following at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.
