Francisco “Frank” David Pubillones, age 76, passed away on January 15, 2026, after a long battle with multiple health challenges, including cancer, with heart failure ultimately being the cause of his passing.

Frank was born on December 29, 1949, in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to Francisco Pubillones Sr. and Raquel Gonzalez. As a child, he came to the United States through the Peter Pan Program, a historic refugee initiative that helped Cuban children find safety and opportunity in America. He settled in California, where he spent his early adulthood. There, he formed a tight-knit group of friends. They spent their days cruising hot rods, testing their limits, and making memories that lasted a lifetime. He remained in contact with several of these friends throughout his life.

During his years in California, Frank met the love of his life, Daryl. In the early 1990s, his work in construction brought them to Colorado, where they built a life together and later founded F&D Mobile Home Service, LLC. Frank spent his life working with his hands and could build just about anything, never afraid to take on a challenge.

Frank loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and riding horses. In his early adult years, he spent time in and around rodeos, where he developed a passion for roping and riding. In later years, he found peace working on the farm, tending to animals of all kinds. Frank had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. He and Daryl participated in dog agility competitions and often traveled throughout the state to compete, forming a close-knit community of friends. Frank grew incredibly close with his agility tribe. He and Daryl even built an agility field on their farm, where they frequently gathered with this group of friends for practice, training lessons, and barbecues.

Frank was outgoing, a jokester, and lived for a good laugh. He was as fierce as he was kind-hearted, stood firmly by his values, and was a man of his word. Though proud, he remained humble. Anyone who knew Frank would tell you how kind, approachable, and easy he was to talk to. Strong inside and out, Frank was full of passion and lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Daryl Pubillones; his sons, Shane Pubillones (Kasandra McPherson) and Kyle Pantana (Rachel Pantana); his daughters, Jenna Pubillones and Channon Charles (Kyle Charles); his sister, Ana Pubillones Williams; his grandchildren, Karina Geiger (Tanner Geiger), Shane Jr. Pubillones (Alexandra Pubillones), Cassie Pubillones, Kade Pubillones, Ayla Armenta, Olivia Charles, Carmen Pantana, and Summit Pantana; his great-grandchild, Axel Geiger; his niece, Alexis Latchaw (Brad Latchaw); and many other beloved family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring, when the weather has warmed, allowing family and friends to gather to spread Frank’s ashes at a special location.

He will be missed dearly.
