Frank Alagna

I loved Fr. Frank so dearly. He was central in my emotional and vocational growth. He was my psychotherapist for 7 years in the `80s until I went back to school, deciding to be a pastoral therapist myself. I went on to work at Riverside Church Counseling Center (NYC); I then moved to Salem MA where I´m still working after 30+ years. A cliche
but so, so true - Frank changed my life.

May the angels take you into paradise, Father Frank. Your zeal and compassion for immigrant justice made this a better world. Rest easy, friend.

I will miss Frank´s humor and kindness, passion for the gospel and justice and his loyal friendship. He inspired me and showed me that one person can make a big difference. My sympathy to Frank´s husband and family.

When I called Father Frank in October of 2017, and told him I was coming back home to Kingston, he simply asked "What do you need?" When I told him a place to stay while I found another one, he offered me the guest house across the street from his and John's home. When my brother and I rolled into the driveway exhausted after an excursion from Pittsburgh, he and John were there with open arms and warm hugs. He would not take any payment for the house. His kindness, generosity, and sense of abundant love made it possible for me to restart my life in Kingston.

Rest in peace, Fr. Frank. May your passion keep the fires of justice and truth alive among those of us who knew you, even as you now enjoy the company of the saints in the light of Christ.
