Frank Boler Obituary

Published by Legacy from Aug. 2 to Aug. 11, 2025.
Frank Boyd Boler, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Mechanicsville, Virginia. He was born in Brownwood, Texas on May 28, 1942, to Walter Frank (W.F.) and Fannie Mae Boyd Boler.

He lived in Blanket, Texas until 1951 when his family moved to Fort Worth. He met the love of his life while attending Monnig Middle School. They dated all through High School and married on December 23, 1960, in the Benbrook church of Christ. They spent 64 years together living in Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Weatherford, Denton (Texas), New Jersey, and Pensacola, Florida.

If you knew Boyd, you loved and respected him. He never met a man, woman, child, or animal that he did not treat as his equal. He was known for his creativity, kindness and respect for others and his love and dedication to his family. Boyd was quick to listen and slow to anger, and his kindness and creativity left the world a better place! He was calm and poised, ready to roll with the waves and take things as they came.

He was always present and caring for those he loved, from supporting them in their activities to sharing his knowledge. In the family, he was the go-to guy for answers on how things worked or how to bring them back to life. Boyd always made space for creativity in his life, an important example for us.

When tough times hit, he faced them with grit, stamina, and grace, learning to move with the tides. Cancer and its treatments ripple into everyday life with hurdles to learn how to manage. He did that quietly and kept moving forward, never shying away when things took a hard turn. His presence was calming, and his laugh was contagious. Despite challenges, he was always kind to those around him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, W.F. and Fannie Mae Boyd Boler and sister, Mary Frances Dearmore.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Bobbie Miles Boler; his children, James Boyd (Carmel) Boler and Julie Boler (Frank) Lyle; his brother, Roger Mack (Jeanne) Boler; five grandchildren; Robert, Ryan (RJ) (Allie), Jamie (Jax) Boler, Blake (Monique) Lyle and Chad Lyle; two great-granddaughters: Juno Boler and Cassie Lyle and many wonderful friends and family.

Boyd taught us a great many things; he took care of us and delighted us. Boyd loved and supported everyone in his family in whatever they wanted to do. He was a quiet man, but his love showed through. He was a "jack of all trades" including aircraft and house painting, Star-Telegram newspaper delivery, car sales, woodcraft, building inspector and much more.

He will be greatly missed. He was a diligent, steadfast, caring Christian gentleman of strong character, a dedicated family man, and a true son of Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 25th at the North Texas church of Christ, 1290 Farm Road 407, Justin TX 76247. The family will be at the church at 9:30 to receive visitors. A military service ceremony will be held at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
