Born July 27, 1939, in Los Angeles, California, Frank was the son of Woody H. Boyd and Doris M. (Ciaciuch).
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Navy before building a career as a skilled Tool & Die maker. His work eventually brought him and his family from Michigan to Ohio, where he worked for Dayton Progress Corporation
Frank loved his family deeply and was devoted to his pets. Known as a good man, a loving Dad and Papaw, and a caring soul who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—an ice-cold Pabst Blue Ribbon on his back deck while taking in the beauty of his yard, extrapolating and listening to the birds. He also cherished time spent with friends at American Legion Post 668 and Amvets Post 99.
Frank will be remembered and missed by many. His favorite saying, “Change makes change,” is a reminder of the impact he left on all who knew him. Our lives are forever changed without him.
He is survived by his children: Frank Boyd (Tina) of Englewood; Kimberly Payton (Mark) of Dayton; and Montana Boyd-Adams (Matt) of Dayton. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Blaine (Jillian), Bailee (Rob), and Paxton; Mandy, Morgan, and Macy; as well as his loyal dog, Kuro, and his chatty cat, Balthazar. Additional surviving family includes his sister-in-law, Anne Boyd; nephew, Charlie Boyd; and nieces, Cory Lawson (Sam) and Erine Boyd as well as other great nieces and great nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his brother Richard L. Boyd, Parents, Grandparents , his Aunt Helen Ciaciuch, and great-nephew, William C. Boyd.
Frank will have a private Naval military burial.
