Frank Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Strong & Jones Funeral Home - Tallahassee on Feb. 19, 2026.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Frank Willie Brown.

Frank Willie Brown, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle departed this life on February 3, 2026. He was born on October 31,1943 to the late James Brown, Sr. and Willie Mae Brown.

Frank leaves to cherish his precious memories, his children: Daughter, Daddy's girl Retonya Brown Wallace; Sons: Frank Brown, Jr. and Romeo Brown; six Grandchildren: Anthony, Jr., Taranda (Ryan), Tyrone, Chantrel, Jazmine and Romeo Jr. and fourteen great grands; Sister, Leatha Brown; Brothers: James Brown, Jr., Gene Brown (Nancy) and Larry Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Frank was a native of Tallahassee and attended the public schools of Leon County. He furthered his education through FSU and other technical institutions. He retired from FSU (Grounds Department) after 35 years of exemplary service. He confessed Christ at an early age and later joined Mt. Pleasant Church where he was a diligent Usher and Door Keeper.

Frank was an avid basketball player and enjoyed the beauty of cars and decking them out. He loved playing the guitar. In his retirement, he also enjoyed working as a landscaper - transforming many lawns into works of art. Frank was a kind and gracious giver who never hesitated to share his time and resources with family and friends, expecting nothing in return.

Family members who preceded Frank in death were his parents, James and Willie Mae Brown; Daughter, Janet Brown; Sister, Betty Brown Johnson; Brothers: Johnny Brown and Theodore Brown, Sr.; Grandsons: Curtis Wallace and Matthew Brown.

On behalf of the staff and management of Strong & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., we would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Frank Willie Brown.

Memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Strong & Jones Chapel.
