Frank Caizzi Obituary

Frank C. Caizzi, Jr., 84, of Bristol, RI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Malafronte) Caizzi, his wife of 50 years and childhood sweetheart since their kindergarten days.

Born in Providence and raised in Bristol, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Vaccaro) Caizzi.

Frank is survived by his children: David Caizzi (Susan), Debra Messenger (Claudio), Carolyn Caizzi (Magdalyn); his grandchildren: Michael Caizzi (Maddie), Alex Caizzi, Lucy Messenger, Harry Messenger; and many extended relatives and friends.

Frank was a graduate of Bristol High School, Class of 1959. He went on to earn a Bachelor Degree from Pennsylvania University and his MBA from Columbia University. He was a manager for Proctor & Gamble for 32 years and worked at different locations across the United States. He and his family traveled back to Bristol each year for the 4th of July and Christmas holidays to be with their extended family. Other vacation times were spent visiting the states in the regions where they lived.

In their retirement, Frank and his wife helped their family by caring for their grandchildren and aging parents. They enjoyed traveling to most of the western and eastern European countries, including both China and Russia, land tours and river boat cruise tours. They also cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama Canal, and to Alaska and Hawaii.

Frank began his lifelong dream of seeing the sites of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World and to follow the footsteps of Alexander the Great when he and his parents and sister visited Egypt, just before he retired.

His fascination with Egypt led to his enrollment as a non-matriculating student at Brown University's Graduate School of Egyptology and at Rhode Island College (Ancient Nubian Studies). These studies enabled him to visit Egypt four more times on archeological tours led by his professors. Frank also visited other countries of the Ancient World: Greece, Turkey, Syria, and Jordan. These specialized archeological and Ancient Biblical tours enabled him to complete seeing 6 of the 7 sites of Wonders of the Ancient World (excluding the Hanging Gardens of Babylon in Iraq), as well as following the footsteps of the Disciples of Jesus. He enjoyed sharing his travel experiences through lectures and slide shows and artifacts, with children at schools across the state, seniors at nursing homes and his affiliated organizations.

Frank also volunteered his time while living at North Farm for nine years. He was Co-Chairperson for a committee that developed and executed a long-term Comprehensive Landscape and Tree Maintenance Plan, consistent with the waterfront location on the bay that contained wetlands regulated by both the CRMC and the EPA. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Friends of Egyptology, the American Institute of Archeology, the Bristol Senior Citizens Council, and the Knights of Columbus Council 379. He was a daily communicant at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the Church Prayer Group, and the Nocturnal Adoration Society.

Visiting Hours will be held at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, RI on Monday, January 5, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. His funeral will start from Sansone Funeral Home at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State Street, Bristol. He will be laid to rest at North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol with his beloved wife Patricia.
