Frank Everston Carey was born on August 21, 1936, in Glouster, Virginia, to the late Martha Ellen Carey and Matthew Carey. Frank peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 30, 2025.

Frank attended school in Matthew County, Virginia. At an early age, he left Glouster, Virginia, and moved to New York City for work. Frank then relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where he met and married Doris Elaine Jackson, the mother of six of his children. He dedicated over 25 years of service to the Baltimore Housing Authority. Frank was also a successful entrepreneur, buying, renovating, and selling houses. He was a skilled painter, bricklayer, and master carpenter capable of building a house from the ground up. Truly a jack of all trades and a master of many. Frank was exceptional.

Frank enjoyed fishing and crabbing, and his favorite card game was "Pinochle." He loved to sing, record himself on his reel-to-reel, and dance. He was a joy to be around and was loved by many. He cherished cooking and entertaining his family, friends, and neighbors. Frank loved making people laugh; he was witty, charismatic, and charming. His smile would light up a room.

Frank was a man of faith and a believer in Jesus Christ. He had a special fondness for collecting Bibles, each one holding a piece of his story. Inside their pages, he kept photos of his children and grandchildren – his greatest treasures. Frank loved his family deeply and found comfort in both his faith and the memories he kept close. He'll be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, and the love he shared with everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Matthew Carey; and his siblings: Lola Fields, Anne Payne, Carrie Carey, Matthew Carey, Jr., Robert Carey, and Clyde Carey.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sons, Garnett Carey, Kevin Carey (Venesia), and Aaron Jackson; daughters, Cheryl Carey, Cassandra Carey-Slater (Wilfred), Sharon Carey, Barbara Carey-Hill (Alonzo) and Juletta Thomas; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and host of other relatives and friends.
