Celebrating a Life of Love, Service, and Dedication
Frank Joseph Catanzaro, aged 89, of Ambler, PA, passed away on February 5, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Bernice M. (Copeland) Catanzaro, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond that began as high school sweethearts at Ambler High School and lasted for 65 beautiful years.
Frank was born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 21, 1935, to the late Vincent and Orsola (Montera) Catanzaro. His early years were marked by a deep sense of family and community, values that would guide him throughout his life. He served his country with honor as a veteran of the United States Army, a role that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and commitment.
After his military service, Frank pursued a career as an Insurance Agent, dedicating over 20 years to serving the Ambler community. His professionalism and genuine care for his clients made him a trusted and respected figure in the industry.
Frank's life was enriched by his passions, particularly his love for sports. He was an avid sports fan, with a special fondness for the Philadelphia Eagles. Sundays were often spent cheering on his favorite team, a tradition that brought him immense joy. Additionally, he enjoyed playing golf, a pastime that allowed him to connect with friends and family while enjoying the outdoors.
Above all, Frank's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather, always putting his loved ones first. He is survived by his children Carol Anne Catanzaro (Scott), Frank Catanzaro, II (Sonia), Joseph Catanzaro (Monica), and Linda Cooper (Andrew). His legacy lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Kelan Lyons (Brittany), Riana Catanzaro, Siena Catanzaro, Arden Catanzaro, Emily Cooper, and Carter Catanzaro. Frank's family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and shared memories.
Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Catanzaro and his siblings Erminia Pellegrini, Edith Kopenhaver, Mercedes Markland, Beatrice Decembrino, and Edmond Catanzaro. Their memories and shared experiences were a constant source of comfort and strength for Frank.
A Funeral Mass to honor Frank's life will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, located at 259 Forest Avenue, Ambler, PA 19002. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend, with a Viewing scheduled from 9:30 to 10:15 AM at the Church. Words of Remembrance will begin at 10:15 AM.
For those unable to attend in person, the Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the Ciavarelli Funeral Homes Facebook Page, accessible at www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100054523056619. This provides an opportunity for distant relatives and friends to join in celebrating Frank's life and legacy.
Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, offering a final resting place where family and friends can pay their respects and find solace.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Frank's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate) or the Wounded Warrior Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org). These organizations reflect Frank's compassionate spirit and his desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
