Frank DeMarco, age 93, of Haledon, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026.
Born "Francesco" on August 5, 1932, Frank was raised by his loving parents, Giuseppe and Concetta DeMarco. He graduated from Eastside High School in 1950 and went on to enlist in the Air Force and serve in the Korean War until he was honorably discharged.
Frank grew up in Paterson. One of his first jobs was a milk man where, at the time, he unknowingly delivered milk to his future bride's family. Many years later, he and Carmela courted for a year and were married on September 9, 1962, at St. Michael R.C. Church in Paterson, with a beautiful reception following at the The Brownstone. Frank and Carmela lived in Paterson for the first years of their marriage until settling in Haledon, where they raised three children.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carmela (Sidoti), his daughter, Linda, and her husband, Lucio, his daughter, Lisa, and her significant other, Louis, his cherished grandchildren, Anthony, and his wife, Gabrielle, Joseph, and his wife, Samantha, Amanda, Danielle, and her fiancé, Nicholas, and Christina. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter, Ariana. Frank was predeceased by his son, Joseph, in 1982.
Frank was an amazing cook and looked forward to his full house and every Sunday dinner with the whole family. He was especially recognized for his famous seafood salad every Christmas and his barbecue chicken "on the bone". He was a jack-of-all-trades and he found nothing too challenging to repair. He was a quiet, humble man of little words, but when he spoke, was very wise and witty.
Frank was employed as a Pipefitter by the Bayer Corporation in Haledon until his retirement in 1993.
Frank's legacy lives on in the love he shared, the meals he prepared, the hands he lent to fix what was broken and the quiet strength he gave to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
