Frank Friday Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Cremation Society of Iowa - Des Moines on Mar. 13, 2026.
Frank Michael Friday, 67, passed away on July 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of skilled craftsmanship and a love for the outdoors. Born on December 5, 1957, in Independence, Missouri, Frank lived a life defined by his dedication to his trade and his passion for nature and spiritual reflection.

Frank grew up in Kansas City, where he developed an early appreciation for carpentry. As a journeyman union carpenter, Frank took pride in his profession and enjoyed helping others by tackling a home repair or building a deck. Beyond his trade, Frank cherished camping and boating on local lakes, and knew the Bible, finding deep meaning in its teachings.

Though Frank was not closely involved with his family, he maintained contact with his children, Lance and Kelli. Through occasional phone calls and visits, he shared stories of his latest projects, his faith, or quiet moments by the water, keeping a thread of connection alive. His thoughtful gestures, like offering advice on a home repair or a reflection on scripture, left a lasting impression.

Frank is survived by his children, Lance (Jennifer) Friday of Blue Springs, MO and Kelli Friday of Overland Park, KS; two sisters, Kathy (Dennis) DeMarea of Blue Springs, MO and Sharon (Dennis) Bell of Blue Springs, MO; one brother, Tom (Kim) Friday of Beverly Hills, FL, and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Sophie; his sister Terri Chikly and brother Paul Friday. His memory will live on through the structures he built, the campfires he tended, and the conversations that touched on the eternal.

A private gathering will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing a kind word or a moment of reflection in Frank's memory, perhaps by enjoying a quiet moment outdoors. Frank Michael Friday will be remembered for his skilled hands, his love of nature, and the ways he reached out to stay connected. May he rest in peace.
