Frank Bernard Fuhrer Jr.

In the early 1980s, Frank was a patient of mine at UPMC Magee Hospital. As a radiation therapist, I saw him daily for weeks. Frank was the highlight of good will in our department. The weekly delivery of six packs and his upbeat attitude, lifted everyone's spirits. (No pun intended.) He even hosted a luncheon for our staff at one of his clubs.His gift for living and philanthropy inspired me in my career. Thank you, Frank.

I met Frank by joining him & two sons at a Notre Dame game Fall of 1978-79. My Dad ( Dan O´Brien ) was part of the Development team and had a friendship with Frank and organized for me to go to the ND game with Frank & his sons. I have to say I've always remembered that time and what a class act Frank was and his boys.
I am sorry to the Fuhrer family for your loss
and know your Dad lived a full life with all of you in his heart.

Great man, great friend, great family. Frank´s many contributions will live on in his memory.

I did not know Frank, but enjoyed golf with Heidi and Joni. Reading his obituary makes me feel like I did know him....an inspiring human being.

There is know greater success story than that of a man creating the opportunities for other men and women to work and earn a good living---in order to raise families, buy homes and live comfortably in the great region of Western Pennsylvania. In this regard, countless families benefited from Mr. Fuhrer's hard work and perserverance. He created his success with his brilliant mind and work ethic. I am proud to have worked for and been associated with the Fuhrer Family for 25+ years. Like me, he gave many their start in life; a career to be proud of. He lead us on a path based on hard work, and integrity. God Bless you and most of all...

I am so sorry to learn of Frank's passing. I remember him fondly from the old Hidden Key (Florida) neighborhood when he and my Father were such good friends. God Bless him.
