I was so sad to hear that I lost my cousin Frank. I had talked with him a few times when Angie was in the hospital/rehab facility and then again after he burned himself with the beans in the kitchen. I felt so bad for him because I suffered a 3rd degree burn on my hand from too-hot water and I know how painful that can be. However, I had no idea that he was sick again after this, so this was quite a shock. I learned what "swamp pop" music was from Frank. His Mama, who I loved dearly, was so proud of his musicianship. Dave and I remember Chatta and Joe so well and spent much time with them when we visited Louisiana. We cherished visiting her in the nursing home and of course, they loved her there. I still have Chatta's wedding gift to us on my wall, 23 years later. This beautiful picture of Frank looks so much like his Mama. Those beautiful blue eyes...how he will be missed as all of our family who have gone before us are. I have such fond memories of all the family together at Uncle Roy and Aunt Angie's house and Aunt Phinnie's house on Sampere Lane. We laughed so hard and ate so well. I cherish my Louisiana family and it is so sad that I lost my mother (Beatrice Pat Sampere Macaluso) and her twin sister (Congetta Sampere Macaluso) in the 1970's because it has been hard for me as an only child to maintain my family ties there, since my Maw Maw Mary Sampere and Paw Paw Morris Macaluso moved to Illinois in the 1940s. We always stayed in touch though and I wrote letters to family for my Maw Maw. I have beautiful pictures of so many of you. My goal for 2022 is to post them so others can enjoy them too. Dave and I send our deepest condolences to Angie and her family and Roy and Mamie and their families at this sad time. May God give you all peace at such a difficult loss and may God greet Frank as he reunites with our creator and our family in Heaven. Prayers for all of you and much love!

Margaret, So sorry for the loss of your father. With losing my husband and father within 10 months of each other, I know grief can be overwhelming. Even though we expect to lose our parents within our lifetime, we are never ready to say goodbye. You and your family are in my prayers.
