My late father and Mr. Gigler attended school together in Arnold and remained lifetime friends. He was very helpful with the funeral arraignments when both my father and mother passed. He made a most difficult time a little easier. My sympathies to the Gigler Family. He was a kind and thoughtful man.

I type this today with a very heavy heart. How do you say good-bye to your idol? Yes, he was my uncle and like a second father, but it was so much more than that.............I have always aspired to be the man that "uncle Num" is and hopefully, some day I will get there. I was fortunate to have a great family and a great father of my own, but having my Uncle Num in my life was probably the greatest gift that god has given me. He taught me so many things, I can never begin to list them all in a short paragraph. His everlasting lesson is to be thankful for what you have and be generous and share with those that need the most - never forget where you came from and always take the time to help others.
He truly loved his whole family and his heart was bigger than Pittsburgh !!! Good-bye for now, but I know we will meet again. You have left an amazing legacy and were a role model to all of us.
I started by saying "how do say good-bye to your Idol"? Idol is only part of it. I need to include mentor and role model to complete the description. I knew this day would come and I tried to prepare myself - but My heart is still shattered and truly broken. My/Our families sadness is soothed by our memories and the everlasting influence you have had on the lives of our entire family. We can say good bye for now because we know you have left a legacy that will last forever and we will be together again some day.
Our family has lost it's Patriarch and it's leader, but I know you would demand that we move forward and WE WILL utilizing the lessons you have taught us.
Heart Broken !
