Frank Gray Obituary

Frank Lee Gray, of Reston, Virginia, passed away October 11, 2025, from congestive heart failure.

Frank was born on November 5, 1942 in Roanoke, Virginia, and graduated from the Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg. He served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1966, and later obtained his Bachelor of Science in engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1970. In 1964, he married Rosemary Siconolfi, who preceded him in death in January 2023. Frank and Rosemary moved to Arlington, Virginia in July 1970 and raised two sons, Daniel and David. Frank worked as a structural engineer specializing in wastewater treatment and ended his long career at CH2M Hill.

Frank was a talented amateur auto mechanic, who spent most of his free time working on his beloved 1964 Mercury Comet and various other vehicles he kept running long after anyone else would have given up. He was a voracious reader, and generally the most content person you could know. He was a beloved Pops to his grandchildren Andrew, Anna, Joseph, and Sophia.

In addition to his grandchildren, Frank is survived by his son Daniel Gray and daughter-in-law Kristin (Annandale), son David Gray and daughter-in-law Rachael (Arlington); his brother Thomas Gray, and sisters Lucy Gray and Elizabeth McCauley. Frank will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Nassau Nolls Cemetery in Port Washington, NY. There will be a wake in his honor for family and friends at Red's Table in Reston, Virginia on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
