Frank Guido Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home on Feb. 2, 2026.
To know the man in the bucket hat at the end of the bar was to love him.

Whether you ran into him at Strada, Jammers, Bonefish, or any of the many bars and restaurants he frequented over the years, you always knew Frank's chair, his drink, and his hat. He was a familiar face, a steady presence, and a friend to many-someone who never stayed a stranger for long.

Frank Guido passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 29, 2026.

Frank was a loving father, grandfather, and friend whose life was rooted in service, family, and connection. He proudly served for 30 years with the Syracuse Fire Department, risking his life to protect his community with courage and dedication. Even in retirement, Frank never slowed down. Until the very end, he remained an avid antiquer, always on the hunt for the next great find and the stories that came with it.

Above all else, Frank loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Whitehouse (Bill); his sons, Frankie and Nick (Jenna); and his daughter, Marissa. He was the proud grandfather of the grandchildren he loved most: Jessica and Shannon (Kristen and Bill), Juliana (Frankie), Luciano and Gianna (Nick and Jenna). Being Grandpa was one of his greatest joys, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Frank will be remembered for his larger-than-life presence, his loyalty, his stories, and the unmistakable bucket hat that became his signature. His absence will be felt deeply, but his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched, the tables he gathered around, and the family he cherished so dearly.

Calling hours, followed by a blessing, will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward for a celebration of life at Strada Mia. A private burial will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frank's honor may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

To Frank also well known as Corvette guy in our neighborhood. Although I did not know Frank a lot I enjoyed being his neighbor and helping out with shoveling his driveway and brushing off his car. We all miss hearing the phone call and sound of his voice saying "hi it's Frank from nextdoor is Nate around?". Even though I did not know Frank nearly as much as some people I still miss him dearly and was happy helping him out. Thank you for your service in the Fire Department. To the family of Frank. I am very very sorry for your loss. I will see you at the calling hours. If you need anything we are always nextdoor - Nate
