Frank A. Juliano Jr., 69, of Morganton, NC and formerly of Milford, died October 9, 2025. Born on February 6, 1956, a son of the late Frank A. Juliano Sr. and Anne J. DePalma of New Haven. Survived by his beloved wife Nancy Hine Juliano of Morganton; brother James P. (Sally) Juliano of Avon; a niece and several nephews; many cousins, his sister of the heart, Carmela DeVito, and niece, and two nephews of the heart (the Brown family) as well as many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael Juliano; stepfather Mike DePalma; and stepmother Laura Juliano.
Frank grew up in East Haven and attended public schools there. He received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Marquette University in Milwaukee and a master's in American Studies from Fairfield University.
Frank worked for assorted Connecticut newspapers during his 35-year career as a reporter and editor, including the Waterbury Republican and American and the Connecticut Post, where he served as the New Haven County Bureau Chief, retiring in 2017.
He wrote two published books-the novel Entr'acte and A Brief History of Milford, published by the History Press in 2010. He and his wife self-published the novel Our Hour of Need in 2022.
Frank was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and while in Milford he served as a mentor in the Bridges Across the Ages program and as a volunteer for the Literacy Center of Greater New Haven, the Milford Historical Society, Woodmont Civic and Recreation Association and the Friends of the Milford Library. In North Carolina, he was a member of the Friends of the Burke County Library, and the spiritual life committee and newsletter of Grace Ridge Lifecare Community where he lived.
He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed attending baseball games, theater performances, and concerts with his wife. The couple also travelled widely, visiting twelve foreign countries and nearly all U.S. states and national parks.
Arrangements were entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Friends may call from one to three o'clock on Sunday, October 19th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church of St. John XXIII Parish, West Haven, on Monday at ten o'clock. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
