Frank L. King

Frank L. King, of Lowell, passed away on March 26, 2014 at St. Anthony Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Daniel (Melissa), Rocky (Janet) and Monty (Kathie); seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his sister, Joyce (Bob) Huber; brothers, James King and Preston (Dorothy) King, along with other family members, and his devoted, canine buddy, Odie. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents, Frank and Edna King; sisters, Jeanette Flinn and Wanda Tucker. Friends may gather with the Family on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Avenue (corner of 41 and 129th Avenue), Cedar Lake, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Suitor officiating. Interment will follow immediately at the German Methodist Cemetery, Cedar Lake, Indiana. Frank was born on September 17, 1935 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and moved to Indiana at the age of 16. Frank retired from Rhone Poulenc as a Plant Superintendent. He was a member of the Cedar Lake Lions, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Masonic Lodge No. 157. He loved the outdoors, his trips to the "Boats", playing poker, and hanging out with Family. He will always be known for his kindheartedness – quiet, yet strong – stern, yet fair. He will truly be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in his memory to the Cedar Lake Lions or local Shriners.
