Frank Lambert Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wharton Funeral Chapel - Alva from Oct. 3 to Oct. 7, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Frank Mark Lambert, who departed this life on October 3, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on November 30,1950 at the Alva General Hospital to Lorena (Eckels) Lambert and Clifford William Lambert, and lived a life marked by service to others through his generosity and kindness.
Frank was raised on a farm South of Hopeton with his parents and 3 siblings, Joan, Jim and Mary Beth. His father was a principal and teacher, and Frank attended school in Cleo Springs, Dacoma, and Alva, graduating from Alva High School in 1969. He graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1974 with a teaching degree in History. There he met his wife, Virginia Weidemann. They were united in marriage in March of 1971 and celebrated 54 loving years together. They had three children, Brandon, Ellyssa, and Stephanie. After graduating college, Frank pursued farming and ranching with his father, carrying on the family legacy for 55 years. Later, Frank farmed and ranched with his son, Brandon, who became the 4th generation farmer in the family.
Frank faithfully served the citizens of Alva for 24 years as a police officer with both Northwestern Oklahoma State University and the Alva Police Department. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was proud to have chartered the Hopeton Lions Club.
Frank was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend. He was known for his compassionate kindness, always there to help those who needed it. Frank didn't know a stranger. He loved visiting with friends and loved ones and making people laugh or smile. He may not remember your name, but he never forgot your face. He was generous, funny, kind, and if you were lucky enough to be loved by him, he made sure you knew it and always had a ready hug. His family was the most important thing to him, and he loved to spend time with them. He especially treasured time with his grandchildren and took great pride in them.
He was a skilled carpenter, a wonderful singer, and an excellent marksman. He often spent his time camping with his family, doing genealogy research, shooting and fishing with his brother-in-law, Robert. He was a hard worker and enjoyed working alongside his hired hands, many of whom became lifelong friends. He was most at peace while farming and doing what he loved – driving the tractor – and spent his final days in the field doing just that.
Frank is survived by his wife, Virginia; his son Brandon and wife Amanda Lambert; his daughter, Stephanie Lambert; his daughter, Ellyssa and husband Eric Reames; his sister, Mary Beth Touchstone; his sister-in-law, Joy Lambert; his grandchildren Delaney and husband Tyler; Kaden, Elliana, Esten, and Grayson, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lorena; his siblings, Jim Lambert and Joan Kassik; brothers-in-law Ronald Kassik and Robert Touchstone; and his grandchild Kinsley Marie Lambert.
Memorial contributions may be made through Wharton Funeral Home to Kids&Cops or the Masonic Lodge in Alva.
