Frank Lemise Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Crematory & Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach on Aug. 29, 2025.
Frank Lemise, 83, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on August 28, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on February 11, 1942, in Jersey City, Frank was the beloved son of the late Peter and Helen Lemise. He is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Dorothy Lemise (née Safatinos), and their children, Frank, his Wife Alyssa, Mark, Kenny, Michael, Richard, Michelle, Valerie and, her husband Leroy. He was preceded in death by his cherished son, Daniel.

Frank was the proud grandfather of Mark, Nicole, Anthony, Andrea, Rebeka, Kyle, Daniel, Ashley, Aaron, Jaden, and Brielle. He is also survived by his brother Peter Lemise and his late wife Linda, his sister Annette and her husband Gerard Mastroly, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Frank dedicated his professional life to serving others, working at Perth Amboy Hospital, Saint Vincent's, and the Jewish Home and Hospital, where he served as Director of Laundry Services.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Frank lived his life for his family. He coached his children in every sport, volunteered wherever he was needed, and became affectionately known as the "neighborhood dad." If someone called on him, he was there without hesitation. Handy and determined, Frank fixed countless things in his life-and if he couldn't, he would certainly try.

In Jersey City, Frank was an active member of the Democratic Party, serving as a committeeman for many years. After relocating to Myrtle Beach, he continued his dedication to community as Vice President of the Sons of Italy. His Catholic faith and Italian upbringing in Jersey City shaped his values of family, generosity, and service.

Frank will always be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, and the smile that could light up any room. No matter where he went, he either ran into someone he knew or made a new friend instantly.

A funeral Mass will be held Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lewis Crematory Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity most near and dear to your heart.

Frank's memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved him

Mr. Lemise is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 294-0011
