Frank Masterjohn

Frank Masterjohn, age 78, of St. Paul, MN, passed away on February 25, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family. Born in Stillwater, MN, in 1946 to Frank and Mabel Masterjohn, he spent his life bringing joy, laughter, and love to everyone around him. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mabel, sisters Carole and Connie, and step-grandchildren Hunter and Hannah.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet (nee Sturley, Moravec), his children from his first marriage to Kathy Masterjohn; Nick Masterjohn, Lisa Salas, Gina Norman (Kevin) and 5 grandchildren-Madelynn Montes (Leo), Emily, Sophia, Marco, and Lorenzo, his two stepdaughters, Melissa Griggs (Jason) and Molly Heise (Chris) and 5 step-grandchildren-Calli and Fischer, William, Emerson, and Sam. He was also blessed to learn later in life about two additional sons, Judd Larson and John Shirley (Francoise) and grandchildren-Sierra, Sawyer, Saxton, Andrew, and Nico. Also survived by his siblings Cece Meli (Sal), Rose Steffen (Harold) and Roger Masterjohn, and many nieces and nephews.

Frank had a diverse career, including roles in sales and the hospitality industry, where he particularly enjoyed working in restaurant management and maintenance. He loved his work, especially in hospitality, and the people he met along the way. In 1999, Frank met Janet, and they married in 2006. Together, they shared a fulfilling life traveling, camping, cooking, and a life full of laughter. Frank was a foodie at heart searching high and low for the best donut, coffee, pizza, and burger.

Frank was a passionate sports enthusiast, especially the silver and black team Oakland Raiders and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's events. He was also known for his ability to make people laugh and for his love of dancing and spending time with friends and family, including frankie-isms.

Frank's memory will live on through the many lives he touched. His warm heart, sense of humor, and zest for life will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Frank's life will be held Sunday March 9, 2025, at Upper Post Flats Community Club room (Open House) from 1-5 with a small service at 2:00.
