Frank E Pointer, affectionately known as Frankie, passed unexpectedly Saturday evening. He was born January 26, 1954 in Columbus, MS to the late Frank and Katie Ruth Pointer. He came to Mansfield as a young lad, and made it his life long home. He graduated from Mansfield Sr. High in 1973. He worked for Kermit Caldwell Demolition from the age of 15 starting as a weekend worker, and when he became an adult he started full time and remained with Kermit until he was 62. During his time with Kermit he worked as a tow truck driver for Anderson's Towing. After retiring, he just couldn't sit still so he went and worked for Tucker Brothers Auto Wrecking. He also worked for Melton's Ribs for many years.
Frank was an outgoing, loving, funny man. He was a advate bowler from a young age and continued to bowl until Park Lanes closed His other passions were fishing, grilling, throwing darts, which he started playing at Melton's Blue Room and won lots of trophies and pins. He was also a well known member of The Mansfield Road Runners. He was the "life of the party anywhere he went. If you knew Frank Dawg then you know that to be true!
Frank is survived by 3 daughters, FranChasity Pointer of Mansfield OH, Stacy Kilpatrick of Columbus OH, Clarissa(Parris) Campbell of Akron, OH, and stepdaughter with whom he helped raise, Amber Thompson of Mansfield OH. Sons, Labreece Reynolds, Andrew Hawthorne, Nathan McFarland, and Frank "Dott Pointer all of Mansfield OH. Sisters Cathy Pointer of Mansfield OH, and FranChon Mathews of Columbus OH. Brothers, Theodric(Debbie) Pointer Of Mansfield OH, Kelvin(Marissa) Pointer of Fairburn, GA, and Joshua Pointer of Mansfield OH. He also has 4 Step sisters, Doris. Jackie, Shirley, and Okera Marshall, all of Columbus Oh. 29 grandchildren, 12 great grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews, aunties, and uncles. Life long friend Brenda J. Smith of Columbus, MS. Very close friends Dan "Dad" Tucker(and Family) and Donnie Shifflet of Mansfield OH. His Grant Street Family, all of his Basement Family and friends and of course his Road Runner and A-Club family. His companion animals "Brown-Dawg" and "BunnBunn."

He was preceded in Death by his beautiful daughter, Melinda Kay Pointer, his parents Frank and Katie Ruth Pointer, maternal and paternal Grandparents, stepmother Osia Pointer, and also his brother in-law Steve Mathews Jr.
Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, October 7, 2022 at Providence Baptist Church, 112 W 6th. Interment at Mansfield Memorial Park.
