Mr. Frank Scanlin Jr.

Scanlin, Frank Jr., 91, passed away Friday December 17, 2010 at Wesley Medical Center, after a short illness. He was born October 29, 1919, in San Antonio, TX. the son of Frank and Clara Alvina Boehme Scanlin. Mr. Scanlin graduated from Southern Illinois University in June 1940 with a business degree, and was captain of the gymnastics team. He worked in Washington D.C. for the War and Navy department from 1940 to 1943. He served in the army from 1943 to 1946. He retired from the Boeing Air Force Office in 1977 after 25 years of service as a contracting officer. Mr. Scanlin was a member of the College Hill Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, golf, bridge, dancing, crafts and traveling. He married Jessie May Duncan on February 14, 1943 in Washington D.C. She died October 8, 2009. They had one son, Thomas Duncan, who died May 11, 2010. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Armbrister of Lawrence, KS. and Cindy Wedeking of Frisco, TX. Brother, Carl Thomas of Yorba Linda, CA. ; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Visitation, Monday 1:00pm, funeral service Monday 2:00pm both at Lakeview Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to College Hill Methodist Church or charity of choice.
