Frank George Welti Jr. passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024 at the age of 84.
Frank was born on June 28, 1939 in Milwaukee to Frank George Welti Sr. and Lois Jean Wamser (both deceased).
He attended Rufus King High School. He left school to join the Navy in 1956. He returned on leave to marry his high school sweetheart, Jill Maureen McKinney on December 6, 1958. They remained married until her death on February 20, 2015. They had two children, Susan Maureen and Wendy Anne (deceased).
After being discharged from the Navy he began working at A.O. Smith like his dad and brother. He worked as a welder and supervisor for 30 years. He also ran his own business on the side for several years. The Western Patio and Iron Co. at North Lake. He enjoyed creating ornamental iron work.
Once he had enough of two jobs, he sold the business and the family home on Bark Lake. In 1978 they lived on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Frank purchased the big boat he always wanted, the Shangri-La.
Once retired, they sold that house and purchased their new home, and R.V. They became snowbirds and spent winters in Texas along the Rio Grand, along with their many new friends. After 20 good years on the road, Jull became ill and they sold off their R.V.
After Jill passed, Frank moved to Northern WI. for several years. Frank spent his remaining three years with his daughter Sue in Sheboygan.
Throughout Frank's life, he enjoyed swimming, fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, gardening, horseback riding, playing accordion, country music, martinis and Patron.
He is survived by his brother, James Welti and Penne of Markisan; daughter, Sue Welti of Sheboygan; his grandchildren: Stephanie Grace and David Grace both of MI; three nieces in WI; one nephew in Florida; and many friends.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date.
