Frank Wilson

1952 - 2026

FRANK ROGER WILSON, 73, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Frank was born in Albion, Michigan Sept. 20, 1952, a son of the late Marjorie (Ruff) and Herbert Wilson.
He developed a passion for helping animals from a very young age, while growing up (watching the cats) on his family farm. This and a love for 4-H led to a lifelong career as a veterinarian. In his youth Frank enjoyed many hobbies, including hiking and hunting, riding motorcycles and bicycles, rebuilding vehicles, and participating in school plays.
Frank did not wait for life to come to him, and throughout it he developed a passion for everything that involved nature. He helped his children love it as well and shared some of his knowledge through his time with Boy Scout troop 232. All through life he enjoyed sports and coaching - from his sister-in-law's softball team, to JV baseball during his teaching days, all the way to his childrens' soccer teams. At home he could usually be found playing cards and board games, cheering for Michigan State and singing along to the music of John Denver and James Taylor. Later in life he discovered a great fondness for Geocaching which he was able to enjoy both near and abroad while traveling with his family and friends.
It was most evident to all who knew Frank that his family was his deepest love. He shared with them this love through his life and his faith in the Lord.
Frank will be greatly missed by his wife, Laurie (Manogue) to whom he was married nearly 50 years; by his children, Sarah (Tyson) Mowery, Julia (Matthew) Durr and Austin (Lindsey) Wilson; grandchildren, Annabelle, Lilian and Henry Mowery; sister, Eleanor (Keith) Rowlison, sisters-in-law, Doretta Wilson, Donna Manogue and Barbara Hungate, and by many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was preceded in death by his brother, James Wilson, and his niece, Cara Baker.
You are invited to visit with Frank's family Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Road, Woodburn, Indiana.
Frank's memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
