Frankie Ray Ortega, of Amarillo, TX passed away September 11, 2024.
The rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Frank was born May 4, 1952 in Canadian, TX to Salvador and Anita Ramirez Ortega. He attended Alamo Catholic High School then Amarillo College. He married the love of his life and true partner Annette (Adkisson) Ortega on May 20, 1972. Frankie had a career in Sales Marketing/Advertising. Frank never met a stranger, he excelled in making new friends everywhere he went. Frank had an infectious charisma and one of a kind laugh that could brighten any room. He was a lover of all things sports and an avid golfer. Frank was a beloved father and grandfather who will be missed daily. Frank would talk about his grandchildren and his pride for them to anyone that would listen.
Frankie was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Salvador Ortega and Anita Marie Ramirez Ortega; brother, Chuck Ortega; and son, Mark Ortega.
Frankie is survived by his wife, Annette Ortega; daughter, Angela Blackburn; grandchildren, Torrin Bixler of Austin, TX, Bailey Blackburn of Ft. Worth, TX, Ethan Blackburn of Amarillo, TX, and Elizabeth Blackburn of Amarillo, TX; sisters, Walcaie Zuber and husband Don, Peggy Hawkins and husband Barry, Toni Jo Palmer, and Julie Ortega; and many nieces and nephews.
