Franklin Delano Roosevelt Long Jr., "Frank Jr.," "Will," "Uncle Woo Woo," was born on June 10, 1958, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to the late Thelmond N. and Franklin D.R. Long Sr. He was one of six children. His life's journey ended on September 4, 2023.
Frank was known for his love of fishing and gardening, two hobbies that were passed along to him by his father, Frank Sr. He continued the family garden, like Frank Sr. before him. The garden continued to be something of an annual event for those in his extended family providing, among other things, squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes in the summer and greens in the fall.
Frank is also preceded in death by his brother, Eric Bernard Long.
Frank is survived by his siblings, Arlene T. Long, Paula D. Williams, Donald R. Long (Wanda), and Glenn F. Long (Carletta); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, each of whom will cherish his memory and carry a piece of Frank in their hearts.
A funeral service celebrating Frank's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Whiting's Funeral Home, with Dr. Carlon Lassiter officiating. Inurnment to follow in St. John Baptist Church cemetery.
