Kalona- Franklin Dean Yoder was born January 6, 1933, in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Jonas R. and Lena R. (Yoder) Yoder. Frank has lived in the Kalona area his whole life. He owned and operated Old Homestead Photos for many years. On January 6, 1955, Frank was united in marriage to Ada A. Miller. He was a member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church, where he was Sunday school teacher and Sunday school primary superintendent, vacation bible school superintendent and teacher. Frank volunteered in prison ministries, was the founder of Wings of Prayer, and served on the food service committee for the Iowa MCC sale for 3 years. Frank enjoyed horses, photography, tending roses, and writing.
Frank passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 92 years.
Frank is survived by his wife Ada of Kalona, 5 children: Warren (Rhoda) of Jackson MS., Darrell (Sylvia) of Lancaster, PA., Marlin (Joni) of Winston Salem, N.C., Gary (Donna) of Kalona, IA., and Larion (Lynnette) of Tiffin, IA., 11 grandchildren: Andrew (Omi) Yoder, Marcus (Diana) Yoder, Zachary (Priscilla Rocha) Yoder, Jesse (Liz) Yoder, Joshua Yoder, Rebecca (Levi) Smucker, Christopher (Sarah Ashland) Yoder, Matthew (Maya) Yoder, Megan Yoder, Mitchell (Shaleia Murray) Yoder and Bowen (Katelin) Yoder, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers David L. (Verna) Yoder, Paul E (Katie) Yoder and Edwin L (Esther) Yoder and half brother Chris Yoder, and half sisters Mabel Miller, and Frieda Whetstone.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:30 am Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona. Burial will be 9:00 am Saturday December 6, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery rural Kalona.
