Born on November 26, 1946, in Tupelo, Mississippi, Ed was the son of the late Oliver Edward Clark and Mae Dell Sanderson Clark. He was a graduate of Montevallo High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Jacksonville State University in Alabama.
Ed shared a beautiful and devoted 51-year marriage with his late wife, Mary Linda Maddox Clark. Professionally, he dedicated 22 years to Lifeway, retiring as the respected Director of Human Resources.
After hanging up his HR hat, Ed didn't slow down; he traded office life for the dance floor, enjoying ballroom dancing. He was also a loyal Alabama fan-Roll Tide!-a passion he never let anyone forget. Above all else, Ed treasured his role as "Papa Ed" to his beloved grandson, Jasper.
Ed is survived by his loving son, Jonathan Edward Clark and his wife, Megan Browning Clark, of Murfreesboro; his adored grandson, Jasper Clark; his brother, Thomas Daniel Clark, and his nieces and nephews: April (Jeremy) Birchfield, Thomas (Shea) Clark, Robby (Amanda) Clark, and Cameron Clark.
A private inurnment service will take place at a later date at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, Alabama.
