Fraula Nachtwey (Geiger), age 64, passed away at Cherry Meadow Hospice in Appleton on December 19, 2025 after a prolonged illness. Fraula was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on November 24, 1961. She lived in Hollandtown, and later Stephensville where she graduated from Hortonville High School.

Fraula was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Amy Geiger, brother Darryl (Bhar) Beckman and nephew Michael Scherer. Fraula will be dearly missed by her brother, Chip (Cheryl) Geiger, sister, Jodie (Tom) Scherer, nephew, Dylan Geiger, Daryl Hurst, nieces, Laura and Amy Scherer, her ex-husband Scott Nachtwey and her many friends as well as Rudy, her fur baby.

Fraula lived life with passion. Friends and family meant everything to her. Whether she was camping, on a tropical vacation, or dancing up a storm at Hodag she was having fun. She also enjoyed singing karaoke and the quiet art of Diamond painting. Fraula worked hard and played equally as hard. Fraula worked for many years at Treehouse Foods (Sturm Foods) in the QA Department until she retired in 2025 due to illness. Prior to that she was a long-time employee of George Webb in Appleton.

On October 11, Fraula held a Celebration of Life party when all those whom she cherished in life were able to attend and celebrate her life. She still wanted to enjoy life to the fullest, even though she was dealing with illness. With the help of dear friends, Barbara Platten and Tammy LaPlant, she was able to fulfill a last wish for a return trip to Branson, MO this December. She passed away just days after her return home from that trip, surrounded by close friends Barbara Platten, Debbie Werner, Kay Frothset, and her sister Jodie.

The Family would like to thank the workers and nurses of Theda Care Hospice who guided first Fraula and then family, through this insurmountable process. We are grateful for all the friends and family that reached out through social media, texts, calls, and cards. Your words of support, encouragement, and kindness meant so much to us. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Fraula’s apartment family that came to our rescue to help close her apartment. Most of all we want to thank God for sending His angels to help with His precise timing.

It was Fraula’s wish to forego a traditional funeral service; her ashes will be handled by the family. The new Fish Sculpture Project in New London will feature a Northern Pike with Fraula’s name and her Birth/Death dates as a memorial.
