Fred J. Adams, a beloved resident of Custer City, OK, left us on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the age of 65, surrounded by the warmth of his home. While our hearts ache with his passing, we gather to celebrate a life that was rich with love and service.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, 2500 W. Modelle Ave, Clinton, OK 73601.

We will gather to honor his memory on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Custer City, 300 S. Main, Custer City, OK 73639. We encourage all who knew and loved him to share their stories and celebrate a life that touched so many. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery, located north of Custer City on E. 920 Rd.

Fred was born on July 12, 1959, in Anchorage, Alaska, the son of John Adams Jr. and Cora (Lucus) Adams. He graduated from Hobart High School in 1978. On July 25, 1980, he united in marriage with Barbara J. Kolb in Bessie, OK, embarking on a journey that would bless him with a loving family and many cherished memories.

A man of great character and dedication, Fred served as the Mayor of Custer City and was actively involved in his community. His legacy includes being a devoted Boy Scout leader for Troop 302, a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, and a member of both the Masonic Lodge, in Custer City and the Eastern Star Chapter, in Clinton. He brought his love for life to everyone, whether by running the Custer City Kwik Shop, working at the Custer City Coop until his retirement, or lending a helping hand where needed, by mowing yards.

Fred enjoyed a boundless passion for the great outdoors. He relished game hunting, specifically for deer and birds. When hunting season was over, he could be found "pond hopping" in nearby ponds and sharing the tale of his impressive 12.5-pound Large Mouth Bass catch. His adventurous spirit even included a youthful venture into bull riding. Gardening was another of his passions; he enjoyed nurturing plants. He was also particularly fond of raising pigs, quail, and watching chickens roam.

While Fred had many interests, his greatest passion was his family. A family, who will undoubtedly carry forward his legacy of kindness and generosity. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara; sons John Adams and wife, Meredith, of Fort Cobb, and Kenny Adams and wife, Erica, of Stillwater; daughter Darla Fawver and husband Shane of Arapaho; brothers Johnny Adams and wife Helgo, of Germany and Raymond Adams, of Hobart; sister Sally Cramer of Hobart; and many grandchildren who adored him: Aubrey, Kyndel, Kassidy, Chase, Jacy, Catch, Crash, Emma, Mason, and Nash.

Fred J. Adams lived a life of purpose, laughter, and immense love that will forever resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
