Fred Colson Obituary
Bill loved the water, so he built Drift Boats, floated and fished the Idaho rivers especially the Salmon River.
Bill came Alaska in 1985 fell in love, became a fishing guide extraordinaire as he put on his business card. He guided for several years in the Lake Creek area before settling in Anchorage where he started his business Alcan Signs in 1992.
He made signs for the next thirty years for all of Alaska. Alcan Signs was a proud sponsor of the Iditarod for over ten years.
Bills love of the water and fishing brought him to Seward Alaska where he bought a fishing boat "SNOW YACHT", went to school to get his Captains license. He did charters in Resurrection Bay on weekends.
His joy was that boat taking friends and family fishing.
Bill is survived by his son Casey Colson of Kansas City, MO his daughter Megan Colson, Billings, MT his grandson Ethan Colson , MT. and his brother Jim Colson and nephew Michael Colson. Idaho Falls, ID
A Memorial will be celebrated in Resurrection Bay Alaska this summer and the Salmon River in Idaho.

Sad news. Billy was a high school pal, and we had many great times together. Wherever his parents left town, he would have a party in the apartment over the sign shop. His parties were always well attended. A special memory, in 1964 he took Danny Johnson and myself to the family cabin on Colson Creek. It was the first time I ever rode in a hand operated cable car, to cross the Salmon River. I am proud he was my friend. He will be missed. Condolences to the family.

We´re so sorry to hear about your dad passing away. He was always a good friend to us and so many others. Part of the Guard that went to Viet Nam together and formed a brotherhood that stands to this day. Bill will be missed.
