Ash just called me and told me about Fred. I am so very sorry for your loss, Colette. Ash and I loved you and Fred so very much. When we left Roanoke, you both were missed very much. I even missed seeing Nicholas grow up! We still treasure the Santa Claus picture Fred painted for Ash! I would love to see you soon, Colette, and catch up. My number is (502)648-0725. I go by my middle name now...Joy. Please accept my deepest condolences.

We met Fred while trying to figure out how to make balsa wood planes fly through the air with rubber bands, but soon realized Fred had many other things to teach. He demonstrated his lessons through the way he lived his life with patience, kindness, hope, encouragement and lots of laughter. He loved to see others succeed, but taught his best lessons in character when they did not. He was creative and inspiring and gave to others with no end. Colette and Nick, he spoke of you often and loved you both dearly. We will miss Fred immensely, but are so fortunate to have had the times we spent together. We love you Fred.

What a wonderfully generous person Fred was - He was the go to person for wright stuff for science Olympiad and hundreds of kids benefited from his instruction, patience and generosity. Fred always went above and beyond - My kids, husband and I thank the Lord that we were blessed to know him.

A friend told me about Fred's passing this morning. He was our miracle guy when I worked at Creative Alliance. He could create anything. Fred was one of the most genuinely nice guys I've ever known. We need more men like Fred. My condolences to you and your family.

Fred was a good neighbor which says a lot. He was always working in his back yard and loved his garden and his home. We often talked to each other in the alley behind our homes. He was a great guy and will be missed

Fred Crawford was my professor for 3 semesters and I count myself one of the luckiest people to just know him. He was kind, hilarious, thoughtful, and overall the best professor a person could ask for. He was loved by so many and I hope his family finds peace in knowing the impact he had on the community.
